Partiful Alternatives: 8 Best Apps Like Partiful (2026)

Here’s the moment most hosts start looking for Partiful alternatives. You send a cute invite to the group chat. Your friends RSVP in seconds. Then your aunt texts you: “It’s asking for my phone number and a code. Is this a scam?”

Partiful is a great app. It’s also built for one kind of party: young, phone-first, everyone already in the group chat. The second your guest list includes coworkers, neighbors, parents, or anyone who hates handing out their number, the cracks show.

Full disclosure: I own Mixily. I bought it in January 2026, so I have a horse in this race. I also host a lot of parties (I wrote a whole book about it), and I’ve tried every invitation app I could find. Below you’ll get the real prices (checked October 2026), where each app beats Partiful, and where it doesn’t.

Quick verdict: Mixily is the best Partiful alternative for most hosts. Guests RSVP from an email or a link with no account and no app, there are no ads, and the free plan covers 50 invites and 40 RSVPs per event. Stick with Partiful only if your whole crowd lives in the group chat. Start free on Mixily →

Key takeaways:

  • Partiful’s core app is free, but every guest has to log in with a phone number to RSVP, even when you invite them by email.
  • Hosts can’t see the phone numbers guests use to RSVP on Partiful, which makes it hard to build your own contact list.
  • Mixily is the best all-around alternative: no ads, no guest accounts, free for 50 invites and 40 RSVPs per event.
  • Luma is the pick for meetups and ticketed community events. Eventbrite is the pick for big paid events.
  • Evite, Paperless Post, Punchbowl, Apple Invites, and Facebook Events each win one specific job, and each has a catch.

Why People Look for Partiful Alternatives

Most people leave Partiful for one of five reasons: the phone-number login, the contact list you don’t get to keep, the playful design, the text-only workflow, or the new fees. Here’s each one, sourced to Partiful’s own help center wherever possible.

  • Every guest needs a phone number. Partiful’s help center says guests “will still need to log in with their phone number in order to RSVP, even if they were invited via email.” For a 25-year-old, that’s nothing. For your grandmother or your boss, it’s a wall.
  • You don’t own your guest list. Per Partiful’s help center, hosts “will not be able to see the guest’s phone numbers.” Great for privacy. Not great if you host monthly and want to invite the same people again from your own list.
  • The design is very… Partiful. Animated backgrounds, bouncing bubbles, meme-ready titles. The hands-on Partiful review on party.pro put it bluntly: the design is “sometimes over-the-top cute and annoying.” Perfect for a birthday rager. Odd for a work happy hour or a memorial.
  • It runs on texts. Updates go out as text blasts, and guests have to check them. If your crowd prefers email, they’ll miss things.
  • It’s starting to charge. Partiful launched ticketing on June 2, 2026, according to its own launch announcement. Its help center now says it makes money “through a small fee on ticket sales and optional purchases like premium invite designs.”

None of this makes Partiful bad. It makes it narrow. Partiful was founded in 2020 by Shreya Murthy and Joy Tao and says it has millions of monthly active users. It’s built for them. If you’re not them, keep reading.

Is Partiful Free? What Partiful Actually Costs

Yes, Partiful’s core app is free. Its help center says “Partiful’s core platform is free to use,” and you can host a free event without paying anything.

Here’s where money comes in:

  • Optional premium invite designs are a paid add-on.
  • Paid tickets carry a service fee. Partiful doesn’t publish a flat rate. Its help center says fees “depend on your event size and ticket price,” and hosts can absorb them or pass them to guests. Free tickets have no fees.

So “does Partiful cost money?” The honest answer: not for a normal free party. It costs money when you sell tickets or want fancier designs. We go deeper on this, side by side with Evite’s pricing, in Evite vs Partiful.

The 8 Best Partiful Alternatives in 2026, Ranked

The best Partiful alternative for most hosts is Mixily, because guests RSVP with no account, no app, and no phone verification, and there are no ads. The right app for you depends on who your guests are and whether you’re selling tickets. All prices below come from each company’s own pricing or help pages, checked October 1, 2026.

1. Mixily: Best Partiful Alternative Overall

Mixily is a free event page and online RSVP tool. You make an event page with your own photo, colors, and details, then invite guests by email or share one link. Guests RSVP without an account and without installing anything. No ads, ever.

That fixes Partiful’s two biggest complaints at once. Your aunt clicks the link and RSVPs. Nobody asks for her phone number or texts her a code.

Here’s what Mixily does:

  • Email invitations or a shareable link, so you can still drop it in the group chat
  • RSVP tracking in one place, plus custom RSVP questions (dietary needs, plus-ones, song requests)
  • Automatic reminders and guest messaging before the day
  • Date polls, co-hosts, and guest list export
  • Google Calendar sync, and the option to send invitations from your own Gmail address

The free plan gives you 2 active events, 50 invites and 40 RSVPs per event, and 200 emails per week. If you host bigger or more often, the paid plans are flat monthly prices: Lite is $19 (5 active events, 100 invites and 100 RSVPs), Pro is $29 (10 active events, 250 and 250), and Plus is $79 (unlimited active events, 1,500 and 1,500).

Weaknesses? Two big ones. Mixily is for free events only, so there’s no ticket selling. And Partiful’s party-poster animations are flashier. If you need ticketing, skip to Luma or Eventbrite. For the full head-to-head, read Mixily vs Partiful.

If you’ve ever had a guest give up at a phone verification screen, this is the fix. Start free on Mixily →

2. Evite: The Classic, If You Can Live With Ads

Evite is the invitation site everyone’s parents already know. Free invitations work fine, but they come with ads. Removing them means paying per event, per Evite’s support pages: $17.99 for up to 12 guests, $36.99 for up to 30, $68.99 for up to 75, and $99.99 for up to 750. Evite Pro is $249.99 a year.

Evite is the opposite of Partiful: huge template library, email-first, very traditional. If Partiful felt too young, Evite may feel too old. We compared the two directly in Evite vs Partiful, and we ranked the whole field in our Evite alternatives guide.

3. Luma: Best for Meetups and Community Events

Luma is free for unlimited events and unlimited guests, and its free plan includes blasts and automated reminders by email, SMS, push, and WhatsApp. On paid events, the free plan takes a 5% platform fee. Luma Plus costs $59 a month billed annually and drops that fee to 0%, per Luma’s pricing page.

If Partiful is a house party, Luma is a startup meetup. It’s clean, professional, and great for recurring community events with check-in. It’s the wrong vibe for a kid’s birthday. Our Evite vs Luma comparison explains when it makes sense.

4. Apple Invites: Best If Everyone Has an iPhone

Apple Invites is Apple’s own invitation app, and it’s the closest thing to Partiful’s polished feel. The catch: per Apple Support, “to create an event, you must have an iCloud+ subscription.” iCloud+ starts at $0.99 a month in the US.

The good news for guests: Apple says they “don’t need iCloud+ or even an Apple Account.” If you already pay for iCloud+, it’s a free upgrade from Partiful. If you don’t, you’re paying a subscription to send party invites.

5. Paperless Post: Best for Formal Events

Paperless Post is the design pick. Think engraved-looking wedding cards and holiday party stationery, not animated bubbles. It now charges per guest: its pricing page lists Free, Basic at $0.50 per guest, Premium at $1.05 per guest, and All Access at $1.44 per guest, with lower per-guest rates as your list grows. A Paperless Pro plan starts at $250 a year for 250 guests.

Fifty guests at the Premium rate runs roughly $50. Beautiful, but you’re paying for every envelope.

6. Punchbowl: Best for Parents Who Host Constantly

Punchbowl runs on monthly memberships with a 7-day free trial. Per its upgrade page, Plus is $7.99 a month (50 guests), Premium is $11.99 (100 guests), and Platinum is $15.99 (500 guests), with promo prices from $3.99. Here’s the catch: Plus and Premium still show ads. Only Platinum and the $79.99 Business plan are ad-free.

The kids’ party templates are strong. But paying monthly and still showing ads to your guests is a tough sell. We break it down in Mixily vs Punchbowl.

7. Facebook Events: Free, If Your Guests Still Check Facebook

Facebook Events costs nothing, and Facebook’s help center says you can invite people who aren’t on Facebook by email or text. If your neighborhood group or running club already lives on Facebook, it works.

The problem is everyone else. Plenty of people barely open the app anymore, and your invite competes with the whole feed. We wrote a full guide on how to send event invitations without Facebook if that’s your situation.

8. Eventbrite: Best for Big Ticketed Events

If you’re selling real tickets to a real crowd, Eventbrite is the standard. Free events are free. Paid tickets in the US cost 3.7% plus $1.79 per ticket, plus 2.9% payment processing per order, per Eventbrite’s pricing page.

That’s a lot of fees for a backyard party. For a 300-person fundraiser or concert, it’s the norm. Partiful’s new ticketing competes here, but Eventbrite publishes its rates up front, and Partiful doesn’t.

Free Partiful Alternatives: Which Ones Are Actually Free?

Only three apps on this list let you host a normal free party with no subscription and no per-event charge: Mixily, Luma, and Facebook Events. Of those, only Mixily also promises zero ads and no guest accounts. The rest are free with an asterisk.

  • Free, no ads, no guest accounts: Mixily (50 invites and 40 RSVPs per event on the free plan).
  • Free until you sell tickets: Luma (5% on paid events), Eventbrite (per-ticket fees), and Partiful itself (fees that vary by event).
  • Free, but your guests see ads: Evite and Punchbowl’s lower tiers.
  • Never free for hosts: Apple Invites (needs iCloud+).
  • Free tier, then per guest: Paperless Post.

If you mostly need to collect RSVPs, our roundup of free tools to manage RSVPs covers even more options, including spreadsheets and forms.

My rule of thumb: if a free tier covers your real guest list without ads and without making guests sign up, use it and stop shopping. Most parties have fewer than 40 guests. That’s exactly why Mixily’s free plan is sized the way it is.

How to Choose the Right App Like Partiful

Pick based on your guests, not on features. The best invitation app is the one your specific guest list will actually open and answer.

  • Mixed ages, family, coworkers, neighbors: Mixily. Email or link, no account, no app.
  • Under-30 crowd that lives in the group chat: Honestly? Stay on Partiful.
  • Meetups, workshops, community series: Luma.
  • Formal events where the card is the statement: Paperless Post.
  • Paid tickets for hundreds of people: Eventbrite.
DO

Look at your actual guest list before you choose. If even five people on it are over 60 or don’t text much, pick an app where they can RSVP from an email with one click. Deciding who to invite should come before deciding how to invite them.

DON’T

Pick the app with the cutest invite and hope everyone figures it out. A gorgeous invitation that half your guests can’t RSVP to is worse than a plain one they all can.

Here’s a quick script for the group chat when you switch. It heads off the “wait, why not Partiful?” question:

“Hey all! Party’s on the 14th. RSVP here, no app or sign-up needed: [link]. Takes 10 seconds.”

How to Switch From Partiful in 10 Minutes

Moving your next event takes less time than picking a theme. Here’s the whole process:

  • Gather your guest list. Since Partiful doesn’t show you guest phone numbers, pull emails from your contacts or ask in the group chat.
  • Create the event. Title, date, place, a photo, a short description. Five minutes.
  • Send yourself a test invite. Open it on your phone the way a guest would.
  • Send it out by email, or paste the link in the group chat like you always do.
  • Schedule a reminder for 2 days before. A good reminder message is the single biggest driver of who actually shows up.
DO

Try your new app on a low-stakes event first, like a game night, so you learn it before the big birthday.

DON’T

Ask guests to download anything. Every extra step between “invite” and “yes” costs you RSVPs.

And once the invites are out, the hosting part matters more than the app. My 2-hour party formula is the free playbook I use for every party I throw.

The Bottom Line

Partiful is a fun, free app for one crowd. The phone-number login, the guest list you never get to see, and the bubbly design are why so many hosts go looking for Partiful alternatives the moment their guest list gets more grown-up.

If you sell tickets, pick Eventbrite or Luma. If design is the whole point, pick Paperless Post. But for birthday dinners, housewarmings, book clubs, and every party where your aunt is invited, Mixily gives you ad-free invitations, RSVP tracking, and reminders for $0, and nobody has to type in a verification code.
