Let's talk.

I read every email. The more specific you are, the more useful my reply will be — tell me what you're hosting, what's stuck, or what you're working on.

How fast do you reply?
Within 24 hours, most weekdays. If it's been longer, your message probably went to spam — try again.
What's the right number of guests for a first party?
About fifteen. Big enough that not everyone knows each other (which is the whole point), small enough that you can introduce every guest by name. Smaller than fifteen and the room never warms up; bigger than twenty-five and you stop meeting anyone.
How long should the party last?
Two hours. A hard start, a hard end, and an honest invitation that says so. The 2-Hour Cocktail Party works because guests show up on time, stay engaged the whole way through, and leave wanting more — instead of wandering out at hour four.
Do I really need name tags and icebreakers?
Yes — both. Name tags remove the awkwardness of forgetting a name in the first ten seconds. Two short icebreakers, run by you, do the work of mingling for the shy half of the room. They are the single biggest difference between a party and a great party.
How do I get people to actually RSVP?
Send the invite eight to twelve days out, then send a warm reminder 48 hours before with a specific detail — what you're pouring, who else is coming, what the icebreaker question will be. Specifics nudge replies; vague "see you Friday" texts don't.
I'm a nervous host. Where do I start?
Pick a date. Send the invite before you feel ready. Cook nothing — serve drinks and snacks you bought. Run the format (name tags, two icebreakers, hard end time) and the party runs itself. Most of hosting is just doing the thing.
Can Mixily help me run my event?
Yes — that's the whole point. Beautiful invitations, online RSVPs, automatic reminders, and a guest list that updates itself. Free to try at mixily.com.
